Y10 Rounders
Battling to the Final Rounder – Year 10 Girls Make Kingshill Proud Term 6 Week 1 On Tuesday afternoon, the Year 10 rounders team proudly represented the school at the District Tournament, hosted by Farmor’s School. In their opening match against Stroud High, Kingshill won the toss and chose to field. Lara F delivered consistent bowling, linking well with Isla B as backstop. Deep fielders Molly R, Molly P and Maddie S worked tirelessly to return the ball to fourth post.

District Athletics
Racing Ahead: Kingshill Athletes Set the Pace for County Glory! Term 5, Week 5 Kingshill is proud to announce that seven of our talented athletes have qualified for the County Athletics Championships in Gloucester, following impressive performances at the recent district competition. In Years 8 and 9, Ruby R and Eliza B both demonstrated exceptional stamina and determination in the 800m event, placing 2nd and 3rd respectively. Our Year 10 and 11 athletes also delivered outstanding results.

Kingshill Sister Success
Speed, Strength, Success – Luzíana and Anaistasia Blaze the Track ! Term 5, Week 5 Congratulations to Luzíana W (10C) and Anaistasia W (8A) for their fantastic achievements on the track this week! Luzíana impressed in the U17 category, taking home a gold medal in the 100m with a time of 13.7 seconds and a silver in the 200m, finishing in 28.8 seconds. Anaistasia also had a strong performance, earning a bronze medal in the U13 200m with a time of 30.1 seconds.

Y7-Y9 Rounders
Although the results didn’t go our way this time, there were plenty of positives to take from each performance and some extremely close games. Year 7: The Year 7s played a competitive match and narrowly lost by just 1½ rounders. The girls worked hard in the field and have identified areas to improve, particularly in dealing with a live scoring batter in the field and batting skills. Special mentions go to Grace (fielding) and Ella (batting) for their excellent efforts and attitude throughout the match.

District Rugby Tournament
Year 11 Rugby Stars Shine in County Championship Victory Term 1, Week 6 We are incredibly proud to celebrate the achievements of three of our Year 11 rugby players who were selected to represent The Stroud and Cotswold District Rugby Team in the annual County Rugby Championship Festival at Cheltenham Tigers RFC on Thursday, 10th October. Jimmy T, Tom D, and Matt D played a vital role in their team’s success, demonstrating outstanding skill, teamwork, and determination. Their contributions helped the squad secure victory in all three matches, ultimately earning the title of Gloucestershire District School Champions. The team put in a series of dominant performances, overcoming Cheltenham (20-5), Gloucester (10-5), and The Forest (25-5).

Y7 Football
Year 7 Football Team: A Promising Start in the National ESFA Cup Term 1, Week 6 Our Year 7 football team had their first opportunity to represent Kingshill in competitive action this week, taking on Wootton Bassett in Round 2 of the National ESFA Cup. It was a fantastic experience for the squad as they stepped onto the pitch for their debut match, playing with determination and team spirit. Wootton Bassett proved to be strong opponents, and despite our best efforts, we were unable to secure a victory. However, Mr. Thomas is incredibly proud of the resilience and teamwork shown by all 12 players.

Cross Country Relay
Cross Country Relay Success: A Day of Outstanding Performances Term 1, Week 5 A massive congratulations to all of our Year 7 and Year 8 students who took part in the Cross Country Relays at Thomas Keble on Wednesday, 2nd October 2024. It was an exciting and highly competitive event, and our teams truly shone with their dedication, enthusiasm, and sportsmanship. In the Year 7 category, our teams gave fantastic performances that displayed not only individual skill but also great teamwork and determination. Ruby R, Lucy P, Emily F, Isla W, Billy G, Wilf R, Caleb S, and James W all ran with incredible energy, supporting each other throughout the race and pushing through to give their best performances.

Y9/Y10 Netballers
Netball v Westonbirt School: A Fantastic Week of Competition and Teamwork Term 1, Week 5 This Tuesday, we had the pleasure of welcoming Westonbirt School to Kingshill for a series of exciting netball matches, featuring our Year 7 and Year 8 teams. With four matches played in total, the day was a wonderful showcase of our students' growing skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship. For the Year 7 team, this was their first chance to represent Kingshill on the netball court after just a couple of training sessions. Although many of the players are still getting to grips with the rules of the game and discovering which positions they excel in, the team demonstrated impressive teamwork from the start. Each player willingly swapped positions each quarter to ensure everyone had the chance to experience different roles on the court.

Wales and West Show
Rebecca’s Equestrian Success at the Wales and West Show! Term 1, Week 4 We are always delighted to celebrate the achievements of our students, both inside and outside of school, and this week, we’re shining a spotlight on Rebecca, Year 9, for her outstanding performance at the recent Wales and West Show! Rebecca took on the challenging Derby class, a demanding course featuring 21 jumps, including a steep hill, technical jumps at both the top and bottom, and even a bridge to cross. While she wasn’t placed in this class, her determination and skill were evident as she expertly guided her pony, Romeo, through the difficult course, building his confidence with each obstacle.

Strong Start to the Season for Kingshill Year 10 Rugby Team! Term 1, Week 4 The Kingshill Year 10 rugby team kicked off their season in style with a hard-fought and competitive match against Deer Park. Right from the whistle, our players demonstrated fantastic team spirit, determination, and resilience , making for an exciting and intense game. Despite missing a few key players, the team showed great versatility and skill, adapting to the challenge and executing some excellent attacking rugby.
