  • Houses of Parliament

Year 11 Student Leaders Gain Insight at the Houses of Parliament Term 1, Week 5 The year 11 student leader trip to the Houses of Parliament was an enriching experience that I would recommend to any aspiring student leaders in the younger years. Not only did we have a guided tour experiencing some beautiful architecture and rooms of monumental importance, but we also received explanations and links to history to help us to properly understand the positions and powers Parliament holds. As amazing as the tour was, I’d say that personally my favourite part of the day was the discussions had in the education building afterwards. We were even able to have a Q and A with an aid to our Mp, giving us an insight into what working in Parliament is like, and telling us routes to become politicians ourselves.

  • Kindness Matters

Smiles in the Sky: A Surprise Above Kingshill Term 1, Week 5 This past Thursday, Kingshill School was treated to an unexpected and uplifting surprise—a plane soaring above our campus, carefully crafting a giant smiley face in the sky! The moment quickly became the talk of the school as students and staff paused to admire the impressive display, watching in amazement as the cheerful symbol took shape against the clear blue sky. Excitement rippled across the school grounds, with students pointing and capturing the moment on their phones, while teachers took a brief pause from lessons to witness the rare sight. The joyful spectacle was a reminder of the simple yet powerful impact of positivity—how even the smallest gestures can bring a sense of unity and brighten the day for an entire community.

Empowering Student Voices: School Council’s First Meeting of the Year Term 1, Week 4 One of the true highlights of my week was working with the full School Council during their first official meeting of the year. This dynamic group of 30 students, representing all year groups, came together with enthusiasm, energy, and a shared commitment to making a positive impact on school life. They were also expertly supported by our Year 11 Senior Students, who provided guidance and leadership to help steer discussions and ideas. The meeting marked the beginning of an exciting journey, with students setting out their ambitions and priorities for the year ahead.

  • Extend Fayre

Kingshill’s First Extend Fayre of the Year: Showcasing Extra-Curricular Opportunities Term 1, Week 3 On Wednesday lunchtime, we were thrilled to host our very first Extend Fayre, an event designed to highlight the wide range of extra-curricular activities available to our students. The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement as students explored different clubs, sports teams, creative groups, and community initiatives, all aimed at enriching their school experience beyond the classroom. As part of our commitment to personal growth and character development through the UP Strategy, we actively encourage all students to participate in at least one extra-curricular activity.
