I would like to invite you to Cirencester Kingshill School’s Open Mornings. The Open Mornings are on Tuesday 2nd July, Wednesday 3rd July and Thursday 4th July starting at 9.15a.m. in the Dining Hall, when you will be able to join a guided tour to see lessons in progress.

Our school motto is “Striving for Excellence”. Our pupils rise to the very high standards set by the staff and this is reflected in their excellent examination results. We offer our pupils support and guidance to ensure that they achieve the challenging targets set by themselves and their teachers.

We are an established Sports College recognised for our excellence in PE and sport provision. We are also a specialist Science College. We have a third specialism in the Leading Edge Partnership Programme which was awarded to us because of our excellent results in the core subjects, English, Mathematics and Science.

The school has first class modern facilities. Pupils have excellent educational opportunities, very good resources and outstanding teachers.

Extensive support and academic tutoring ensures that pupils achieve their academic potential. In 2012 our GCSE results were again outstanding. 80% of pupils obtained 5 or more A* - C grades at GCSE and 65% of pupils obtained 5 or more A* - C grades at GCSE including English and Mathematics. 26% of all GCSE grades were at A* or A.

The pastoral care at Kingshill is exceptional. “The staff provide excellent care, guidance and support for pupils” (Ofsted). Pupils also enjoy a huge and rich variety of enrichment activities including sports, creative arts, social events and a variety of residential visits both in Britain and abroad. Over 40 after school clubs take place each week.

Kingshill offers the ideal platform to help develop a pupil’s full potential in a secure and stimulating learning environment.

We are delighted to inform parents that Cirencester Kingshill School has increased its yearly Published Admission Number from 165 to 182 pupils, from September 2013 onwards. This means that, from September 2013 onwards, we will admit 182 pupils into 7 tutor groups. Previously the school admitted 165 pupils into 6 tutor groups.

We hope this news re-assures parents that, with an increased admission number, Year 7 pupils will have a much greater chance of acquiring a place at Kingshill School. For September 2013, all pupils who wanted a place at Kingshill have acquired one.

We are all very proud of Kingshill School and all pupils, staff and governors contribute to the school’s excellent reputation in the community.

Please take the opportunity to visit Kingshill, meet the staff and pupils, and see the school in action. I look forward to meeting you and sharing the experience of Kingshill School, that I am so very proud of.
