Catch up Grant
Year 7 Catch-Up grant is a type of funding additional to the main school funding. It is received from the government and is allocated to pupils who were below average in National Curriculum tests at the end of Key Stage 2 in either Mathematics or English reading. The purpose of the funding is to enable schools to deliver additional support, such as individual tuition or intensive support in small groups, for those pupils that most need it.
Use of the Catch-Up Grant
Cirencester Kingshill School received £13, 772 for the year 2016-17 and used it to provide small group Literacy intervention four times a week and Mathematics intervention three times per week.
Impact of the Catch-Up Grant 2015-2016
The average number of months spelling age pupils improved by in 9 months was 16.2 and the average number of months reading age pupils improved by in 9 months was 14.8.
59% of the pupils that had numeracy intervention were working at level 4 at the end of Year 7.
